How we increased Dog & Fields online orders by 429%* year on year.
DogandField.co.uk are an established UK business designing, manufacturing, and supplying high quality dog training equipment and accessories, and its award-winning range of healthy and nutritionally balanced dog foods.
Whilst the business enjoyed strong sales through Amazon and its bricks and mortar store located in Northamptonshire, its website presence was underperforming in Google.
What Ecommerce Projects did
We completed a detailed audit of the website to identify what elements were preventing the site from ranking better organically.
Being a WooCommerce based website highlighted several flaws within the URL structure. The sites’ category names were also weak. After conducting detailed keyword analysis, we improved the naming of important categories, as well as adding many new categories that better leveraged DogandField’s offering.
In addition, we significantly increased the richness of content on all key pages and optimised them so they would better serve users searching for the products the company sells.
What was the end result?
The combination of improving the site’s URL structure, renaming and adding important missing categories, optimizing and adding additional good quality, well written copy across the entire website resulted in a website being better crawled and indexed by Google for a far greater number of relevant search terms.
Over several months the site’s rankings for many search terms improved significantly, which resulted in its web traffic growing and ultimately its orders.
Once these improvements started delivering the right results, we then overhauled DogandField’s PPC campaigns, and they too are now running considerably more efficient and most importantly are now profitable.
